Hello everyone, and happy summer to all!
We’ve been busy reading lots of work and as many writers know, we’ve been closed to fiction, poetry, and essay submissions for several weeks now. Apologies if you’re still waiting to hear from us about your submission. We’ll be back to you as soon as we can.
The good news: we will open for a brief reading period for all submissions during the last two weeks of July. We will open Monday, July 20 and close to all submissions on Friday, July 31 (midnight ET). Please note that during this two-week period, we will cap fiction, poetry, and essay submissions at 50 in each category. No caps on photography, book reviews, and Artists on Craft essays. Find more details on our Submit page.
We will remain closed to all work from July 31 until after Labor Day, on Tuesday, Sept. 8. On the 8th, we’ll reopen to all work but cap submissions of several genres. Stay tuned. Come fall, we will also announce details about a fall writing contest. To read about our previous contests, visit our Contests page.
As always, click on our Support page if you’d like to financially support our nonprofit literary journal. All donations underwrite honorariums for artists. We appreciate all support. We’re excited to be in our 10th year as a paying market and we remain deeply grateful to donors who make this possible.
Take it easy and enjoy the long days of summer,
Beth and Rudri
