Sunflowers are my favorite! Sometimes it’s growing them in the yard; sometimes, it’s grabbing a bouquet at the store. Either way, a photograph reminds me of the sheer joy of them.

The moon is so simple and yet so beautiful. I love to find it in the night sky and love to pull out a camera because I cannot miss that image. I call this Moon Sliver.

At my grandparents’ Texas home in the late 1960s, there were no toilets, just sinks with running water. I was reminded of their outhouse when I came upon this one in a staged setting of a western town. I remember the smell was awful, the bugs were awful. In this photo, I imagined someone in such a hurry to get out that they forgot their hat.
