Row of Swans

I took this photo near Pembroke Castle in Wales — a row of swans morphing into a single terrible, incredible, beautiful mythical creature.

Undecided Blue Titmouse Chick

This spring, blue tits nested near our house in the Scottish Highlands. I caught this chick sitting quietly, peering out at the world as if contemplating whether or not to leave the nest (and who could blame him?!) He did eventually fly off…and we cheered.

Yardbird

I took this photo of a robin near our house in wintertime. It struck me that although we may sometimes feel trapped or imprisoned, there is always a way out.
