Trees captured by Qudus Olowo in Nigeria begin a new week of photography today. He describes his image below.

The Entanglement

“The Entanglement” was taken during the early days of the Harmattan season (dry and dusty period in western Africa, from November to March), at the University of Ibadan Campus in the Ibadan Metropolis, Nigeria. It was shot in early morning when the trees were empty of birds but full of light. There was indeed an entanglement of sun and trees, a relationship beyond photosynthesis.

Thank you for this vision, Qudus Olowo. Beyond the beauty of the photo, from a place so far from me yet a view so familiar to looking up into the trees on a walk along a path near my home…it makes me think that if everyone just walked to the nearest tree and looked up, we would indeed understand “an entanglement of…a relationship…”

I agree with Joyce’s comments. Looking up always presents an interesting perspective. Love the photo.
