We feature two snapshots from Myrtle Beach, S.C. today.
Pink water lilies gracefully rise above the calm surface of a pond, surrounded by flat green lily pads. Their reflection shimmers in the tranquil water, creating a serene and picturesque scene.
A vibrant swallowtail butterfly with its yellow and black markings rests on a large green leaf, its wings spread wide to soak up the sunlight. The play of light and shadow on the leaf enhances the delicate features of the butterfly.
Nature is Robert Sharpe’s grounding. Each day he walks and tunes into the sounds and sights around him. What captures his attention can be as small as a dragonfly or large as a sunset. Birds, butterflies, flowers, insects, animals and landscapes (botanical portraits) are most often the subject of his photos. He can’t walk past a water lily without taking multiple shots from all angles. Find him on Threads @biteradiome and on Blue Sky @biteradiome.bsky.social. His website is: rpsharpe.com.
I have had the opportunity to see many of Robert’s photographs. They are always exquisite. Since I am especially fond of his water lily photos, I named him the lily whisperer.
I love that shimmering reflection of the lily flowers.
