Today we close out 2024 with a series of photographs. Kitt Patten describes her snapshots of Oregon and England.

Morning Moss, Tillamook, Oregon

I live in rural Oregon, and the old Sitka Spruces moss up in the moist dark forests.  I walk by this stand of trees often, but one morning the sun was just right to light them up.

Start, Tillamook, Oregon

I found this Start button while looking for rusty things and chipping paint at a repair and refurbishing yard at the Port of Tillamook.  They have a delightful array of old machines and train cars.  I don’t know what the button actually started when pushed, but I found its statement motivational.

Beach Huts in Cornwall, Crooklets Beach, Bude, England

I visited my friend in Bude, England in the off season, so the beach huts were locked up and quiet.  Their bright paint promised merriment when the weather warmed, but now they were like colorful memories held in the mind…waiting to be unlocked and enjoyed.
