It’s hard to believe 2024 is winding down. In January 2025, The Sunlight Press begins its 9th year. We’re thankful to our artists, readers, and donors for supporting our growth with readership and donations. We understand that you make a choice every single time you click on one of our essays, short stories, poetry, or photography. It means so much to us.

To help support the work we publish, we hope you’ll consider supporting our nonprofit journal tomorrow on Giving Tuesday. Most of the donations to The Sunlight Press come at the end of each calendar year—so we’re setting a fundraising goal of $5,000 to reach by December 31. Thanks to donors’ support, we raised our pay rates in July for published work, and our cash rewards for writing and photography contests. Find more details on our Submit page. (All donations are applied in full to pay honorariums to the artists whose work we publish.) If you’ve considered donating but haven’t yet this year, we’d love your support.
