Welcome to Fall 2024!

In case you missed it, we announced the three winners of our 2024 Photography Contest mid-summer. If you missed seeing these winning photographs, here’s another chance. We awarded first place and a $300 cash prize to Sagebrush Rookery by Graham Tobin. Our second place and $200 cash prize winner was Sardinian Crane Flower (Bird of Paradise), by Viviana De Cecco. Third place honors and a $100 cash prize went to Grasshopper on Gourd Flower by Kat Mincz. Congratulations to all our winners!

Our submission period reopened earlier this month and we are currently open to essays, fiction, book reviews, and photography. We already reached our cap for poetry and will reopen again soon. Keep an eye out on our submit page for updates.

We’re a bit behind running the photography and poetry we’ve accepted. As part of our spring photography contest, we accepted a number of photographers’ work still to be published. We also get a lot of poetry throughout the year and accept a lot; consequently, there’s more to publish. If it’s been more than six months since your work was accepted, be sure to query us about when it might run. Thanks for your patience!

We always like to give a shout-out to our volunteer staff who helps us keep The Sunlight Press going. Thank you, all! We also invite everyone to donate to our nonprofit literary journal.
