I watched this seagull play around the Jetty at Grange Beach, South Australia, and kept thinking about the freedom of birds: when to land, when to leave, when to glide in the sky. What do birds say to humans when they meet?
This photo also came from Grange Beach. At this very instance, that very second of framing and capturing the image, I was struck by the manifold presence of life forms — of existence in its multilayered characters. The ocean in its vastness (both known and hidden surfaces); the guys fishing, reaching out to the ocean; the sky above; the jetty and its huge service; myself and other watchers.

Love these two photos especially David’s captions. Great philosophical insight.
The photos and its respective captions are in perfect synchrony. Gives a lot of meaning and expression.
The black and white creates a really striking effect! These photos also remind me of Sardinia! Really amazing that there are places so far away that have the same beauty!
