Dear Readers,

This is our last week of publishing before closing for the year. We are jazzed to celebrate our 5th anniversary as 2021 comes to an end. We love the work, our staff, the artists, and our role in ushering art into the world. Thank you for joining us on this happy journey.

To continue a tradition started two years ago, we are stepping forward with a $500 matching gift to raise money to pay our artists. We’ve been committed to supporting artists since launching in 2017, and will match every gift dollar for dollar up to $500, between now and December 31. If you considered donating but haven’t yet, this is the perfect chance to boost your impact. We’d love your support.

Our goal is to raise $3,000 by the end of the year. All donations will fund 2022 honorariums for writers and artists published on our site. Many thanks for your consideration.

Other exciting news! Earlier this year we nominated work for Best of the Net awards and today are thrilled to announce our nominations for the Pushcart Prize:

Finally, cheers to our volunteer staff for their continued work and support. The Sunlight Press would not be here without them —Caroline Packard, our copy editor and reader; Clive Collins, our poetry editor; Meg Freer, poetry reader; five volunteer readers: Elizabeth Spencer, Kate Jones, Susan Pohlman, Amanda Steel, and Windy Lynn Harris; and Annie Scholl, regular Artists on Craft contributor. We also are grateful to photographers and artists who have donated their images to illustrate written work, including Eric SorensenSteve Johnson, Emily Sorensen, and Molly Engel.

Please note that we are closed to all submissions until  January 3, 2022. We wish all of our readers a peaceful holiday season. Thank you for your support of The Sunlight Press. See you again in 2022!

Stay well and safe, and warm holiday wishes to all,
