Today we feature the work of Jane Ayres who has spent several years admiring and capturing autumn.
Jane said she wanted to chronicle the beauty, shape, colors, and variety of autumn leaves, year by year. She took this particular photo of maple leaves in 2019, in the Maidstone area of Kent, in the UK. She lost the heart to take images in 2020, although she still walked most days near her residence.
UK-based neurodivergent writer Jane Ayres completed a master’s of arts in creative writing at the University of Kent in 2019 at age 57. Her work has been nominated for Best of the Net 2021 and can be found in places that include Lighthouse, Streetcake, The North, Acropolis Journal, Selcouth Station, Sledgehammer and The Forge. As one of the winners of the 2021 Laurence Sterne Prize, her first collection edible will be published by Beir Bua Press in April 2022. Jane tweets at @workingwords50.
