Wherever the daughter
may travel, let there be
doors without number
where the mother may enter.

                             ~ after Michael Dennis Browne

I will keep a thousand doors or more
for you to enter Mother,
all of them unlocked,
more than ajar,
all of them flung open so
there will be no barriers
between us now, so the sun
effortlessly angles and blazes across
the threshold between us
where I will stand witness to your light.
