Today we feature the work of Margaret O’Driscoll whose images offer a flashback to spring. She talks about both photographs below.

Earlier this year in February, I regularly visited a local wood where a glade was carpeted with purple crocuses, a spectacular sight to see. I enjoyed seeing the profusion of color amid the bare branches of trees all around. Nature, as always, provided brightness on dull days and was a balm for my senses especially during lockdown.

Also during one of my daily walks during lockdown, I went searching for the stunning wildflower, spring snowflake. On a very wet day in early February I was thrilled to find one growing by a stream, its flower buds just about to open. I went back many times over the following weeks to admire and photograph the flowers.
