Today we feature the photography of Sonali Roy. She describe her images below.
The image captures the Damodar River near Randiha, West Bengal, India. The river contributes to the growth of the area’s agricultural sector, and can become fierce during rains such as here in July 2017. According to local reports, the Anderson Weir was built at Randiha in 1932 so that irrigation facilities could reach the lower Damodar basin.
