Celestial Fixer

Some dog days Sirius scents Earth wanting
and waxing rascal he leaps the wall of his
bright palace to comet off astral flare,
through gas and void and dust,
binding particle and wave
into exuberant
spark

then new,
flesh and bone, he
big-bangs into the observable
universe, busts musty orbits with
the horizon of his gravitational coat,
the tidal loll of his tongue, the bold fusion
of his heart, eclipsing distance to draw palms

to fur, pulses to hum, star-stuff to star-stuff,
cosmically patient or piratic as required
to launch such fresh ellipticals.
Then he, job done, novas
home, leaving only
his glowing
tracks.

Early Flirts

Kiss me, shivers the pepper tree in her green
gold lace, yes! sing the bees, hungry, I’ll kiss you
all, brags the sun, extra fresh in the morning,
me, too? I say, left out, which they, wanton,
ignore, as their yellow honeys, and their hum
thrums, and tiny buds tumble down in a soft
spicy rain.
