Today we begin with a week of photography. Bar Scott’s “Sidewalk Flowers” is our first featured photograph.
Bar took her photo on 7th Street midway between Jefferson and Washington Avenues in Corvallis, Oregon. It is much like the one of the cover of her new memoir, Finding a Way – Stories From a Creative Live. Bar said she is drawn to flowers needing to live, push through, persist, reach for the sun despite barriers. This, she said, is what artists do.
Absolutely lovely! The combination of strength and delicacy picked out with such simplicity is brilliant. Thank you for sharing; it’s a perfect symbol of life balance and I know I’ll think of it often going forward.
Good morning Virginia, Thank you for responding to my photograph this way. To me these flowers are a message or a miracle – both really. Take good care of yourself. And let me know if you’d like a copy of the picture. I’d be happy to share it. All the best, Bar Scott
Hello Bar, Thanks so much for your very generous offer. I would LOVE to have a copy of this special photo. To me, it’s an enduring symbol of hope and trust in the future. Enjoy the day and stay well!

That’s beautiful! It reminds me of the lily-of-the-valley coming up through my driveway!
Good morning Karen, Lucky you. I’d love to see a picture of your lilies when they come up next. I’m so inspired by these determined flowers! Have a good week, and thank you for writing. Bar Scott

Such a show of strength and beauty captured so delicately. What a perfect photo to begin the week with during this time that we are looking for both these attributes, thank you.
Good morning,Cindi. And thank you. I agree. I took this picture maybe a year ago and like so many things, it showed up again just when I needed it. I’m glad you saw what I saw. Take care, Bar Scott
