Today we continue our publication of photography with the work of Pat Tompkins whose photos last appeared here in February. She describes the images below.

I took “Cobblestones” in a botanical garden of Ponta Delgada on the Azorean island of São Miguel. The garden was full of towering trees from around the globe, and I photographed them too, but on that rainy day I also noticed what was underfoot.

I captured “Autumn Bridge” in Shawnee Mission Park, west of Kansas City. Both photos highlight my interest in details and patterns.
